2011 : Stealth Adams fourth in Arizona

The Stealth Adams 18-and-under softball team had one of its best showings of the year as they placed fourth in the 2011 Amateur Softball Association 18u Gold Western National tournament last month.

The tournament took place from July 27-31 in Phoenix.

"It wasn't too bad for our first time going out," Stealth coach Sarah Adams said.

Commitments : Gutierrez Headed for Tennessee State

After a couple of months of uncertainty about where she would be going to school in the fall, recent Paraclete graduate Savannah Gutierrez finally found the right fit.
Gutierrez committed to play Division 1 softball at Tennessee State University a couple of weeks ago.

It was another year with promising freshmen for the Valley's high school softball teams.
Most teams don't carry too many freshmen, but several teams had one or two youngsters who proved they were worthy to be on the varsity squad.

Player of the Year

Justine Vela, sr, Stockdale, Pitcher

The three-time winner was even more effective as a senior, finishing 23-4 with 20 shutouts, a career-high 337 strikeouts and a career-low 0.11 ERA. She also hit .456 with 14 extra-base hits and will play for UC Davis next year.
